Nope, it was a calculated risk since Americans generally have no problem with suing people and organisations (even when these people or organisations only tried to help them).
Isn't this how your American legal system works? By suing people?

It is what I hate! the over ability to sue for any little ole thing. But unlike some, not all of us follow that.

Matthew 5:40
"And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also."

Gosh...being a Christian is "hard werk"

I guess being a Christian is indeed ‘hard werk’ when you condemn them of things they haven’t even said.
What is up with that?

Hello Tricky D. There used to be bpdy language towards strangers as well as friends in the old days. Why, because we weren't afraid also to be indifferent.

Not supposed to work that way, but I can see why you think it does.

BTW, what does the legal system have to do with this topic?

When he asked her just how bad she believed it was she began a bunch of evasion and attempting to reroute the question. She stated that no matter how bad it was god always found a way to make something good out of bad things. Smith interrupted her and signed off.
To be frank, as this is an example of personal religious beliefs, if that missionary sits on her bottom and waits for her god to fix everything, then it is a problem.

If she rolls up her sleeves and works as hard as everyone else to clean up and get the area back on it's feet, there isn't a problem with such a person convincing themselves that their god will make everything right. Whever is needed to calm the mind, get over the shock, and Getter Dun.

That good old contradiction of "god helps those who helps themselves" comes into play.

Since we are talking Haiti and superstition, here is Pat Robertson claiming Haiti is in bad shape because of the pact they made with the devil.

Video here: Pat Robertson: Haiti 'Cursed' By 'Pact To The Devil' (VIDEO)

Quote:
They were under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon III, or whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, we will serve you if you'll get us free from the French. True story. And so, the devil said, okay it's a deal

I guess the 700 Club now needs to swoop down there and rescue these people from the devil. I suppose finding requests for this effort will be coming soon.

It was written that these things must come to past.

Ye you heathens in this thread, repent from your blasphemes on the Almighty God.
Verily I say your corrupt thinking has no place in God's house
Mankind's way is a joke to God. Seek the Kingdom of Heaven
Don't be a Sheep to Slaughter, Nothing on Earth is more valuable than your God-given soul
Ignorance is the path to Hell........
