Did ya not see the sign (as I point to the "No Solicitation" sign by the door)?

usually I am polite but let them know we have our own religion. In fact we have a sticker on our glass door that says we are members of such and such church. I would be more inclined to listen to a Mormon than a Jehovas Witness.

My problem is not with JW or Mormons, it is with Baptist. I had one visit from the local JW church asked them to remove me from their list and they have never been back, same with the Mormons, once and never came back. I have lost count on the Baptist. I have tried everything I can think of, up to but not including meeting them at the door nude or having them arrested for trespassing. The other footnote here is the JW and Mormons were polite, even apologized for bothering me. The Baptists are short, ill tempered, and often tell me I am going to hell. The last few visits they just leave things hanging on my door so any burglar will know I am not at home. Makes me hot every time.

No Baptists in my secular area!
I do enjoy telling Mormons and JWs that I'm atheist, and of course they ask me why I am and I feel I'm being informative, even if they secretly think I'm gonna burn. I view it as "coming out" so people know that they know an atheist and that I don't eat babies or have horns or something.
Or else I invite them to join me for a goat sacrifice in the kitchen. Depends on my mood.

I'm not sure what the JWs believe it going to happen to you, but I can assure you the Mormons don't believe you're going to burn.

Just simply say I do not have time or not interested. I do not see that any different when anyone approaches me on any other subject they want to share with me. I do not get all bent out of shape when they get to the house just as any other vendor has something else to offer. Take care.

Oh, do I have stories! But I will limit mine to my favorite. I do invite them in, to discuss Scripture with them.

But my most recent encounter was on the possibly coldest night of the winter here, and those young ladies were FROZEN! There was no Way In The World i was going to let them continue on, shivering. Once they were in, I noticed one of them was wearing holey mittens. I happen to buy mittens to give to people who appear to need them, so she chose a pair that went with her jacket. That was so much fun for me! Basically, i asked them to warm themselves at our blazing fireplace, and I asked them a couple questions they struggled to answer, but when they had no answer, they agreed that they took their answers "on faith." When they were warm enough, they moved on.

I don't know if they were blessed by this, but I sure was. Plain ol' excited. My husband had never seen me interact with such, so he just watched and smiled.

VelcroQueen, that was way cool of you! Do you know if they were JWs or Mormons?

I tell them I'm a Christian. If they offer any pamphlets, I say "no thanks".

Ah, you're sweet, but it was I who enjoyed it. They were Mormon, and they came very late for what they were out doing -- around 9 p.m.. I can't remember both questions I asked them, but one was, since they are both in college, what were they going to do when they learn that the (Was it Nephites?) didn't exist. They said they would take that they did by faith. The other question was more theological, but try as I might, I can't remember.
