How do you fell about the date December 21, 2012? Anything at all to happen (or not) that day in particular? The Mayans thought so. Hopi Indians thoughts somewhere around this date something big-time will happen. Even a Christian evangelist, Jack Van Impe, thinks this date or close to it may have some of prophetic significance (I know, no man knoweth the day or the hour of the coming of the Son of Man, but...). Any thoughts?

The only thing the Mayans thought was that it was the ending of one calendar cycle and the beginning of another.

I predict, like all of the other "special dates" and end of the world predictions throughout history, that nothing happens at all.

Sizzly Friddle already explained the Mayans. The Hopis? Not really sure. The only thing we Comanches cared about Puebloans is what we could raid from them...back in the day that is.

Jack Van Impe? That stiff-haired idiot has changed his end-of-the-world predictions as often as he has changed his socks. Interesting that he now has to rely on the "heathen" Mayans to make his latest prediction. I guess he lost his IM connection to the Almighty! Consorting with the "devil" now, huh?

I predict that the day will begin and end pretty much like every other december 21......and another hyped up internet frenzy, will end up another version of 'the great disapointment'......but that wont stop the numerous 'internet prophets of doom' from giving us plenty of new dates to tell us we should be worried about.

It's a bunch of ridiculous hooey that has too many threads about it already and that only really gullible people would fall for.

The Mayans believed that the current world cycle was going to come to an end on the date 4 Ahau 3 Kankin. That works out to December 23, 2012. And whether or not anyone believes anything will happen or not, the fact of their calendar running out on that date remains.

To the OP, in answer to your specific question...no, I don't attach any importance to December 21, 2012.

Yeah, he does have that kind of strained expression.

Dec. 21, 2012 falls on a Friday. I predict there'll be a number of parties that evening, or maybe Thursday evening.
