Why is it so important that a translator, transliterate a proper noun then to translate a proper noun into a written message?

This is one Hebrew word which means 'almond'. However within the Eastern mindset and culture it is known that the almond is the first tree in the spring to leap to life. It is the first to push out new branches and the first to blossom. So it is a metaphor for 'spring'. After a long winter the first to spring to life.

In a word-for-word direct translation, you might read the word 'almond', and wonder how that word fits in the context.



Or 'Ruach' which is air, wind, breath, spirit; basically 'ruach' is anything which has no form, no substance. 'Ruach' is commonly transliterated into 'air', or 'wind', or 'breath', or 'spirit', or 'ghost'; according to which of those terms seems to best fit the context. But sometimes 'ruach' is transliterated 'rock', and when reading in English this usage of 'rock', it seems that 'rock' fits in the context.

So how does a word which hundreds of times always means things which have no form or substance, suddenly mean rock which is the hardest substance? In English it makes no sense. Without the metaphor it becomes impossible to make the connection. Without the 'key' of an Eastern culture to explain it.
