Can anyone tell me what was the purpose of god killing all of those people in the flood? It sure didn't rid the world of evil, and being omniscient, god would have known that.

It's wordy and convoluted but it makes sense in lots of ways.

The reason for the flood is due to the offspring of the Nephilim.
Nephilim - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In order to keep a pure blood line for Jesus, people who were un-pure or diseased/plague or sexual disease were killed. This is also why when God told them to go into a certain land to conquer it, they were sometimes told to kill every person (including women/children) in that particular area.

To take just a part of the Bible and try to understand it is usually really frustrating. It takes reading and studying the entire time line and the reason for desired end results.

So, these people were sacrificed for the sake of Jesus? I thought it was supposed to be the other way around.

Good grief, are we in Oz, or some other fairy tale land?

Maybe the flood was because the wicked witch stole the ruby red shoes, and this theft had to be avenged...Nephilim indeed LOL.
