In Genesis 1 we find that God created the waters/fish etc. ,horizon then the land. Science believes astroids and meteors may have collided with earth leaving water. I personally have no problem with either senario since we have few witnesses other than Moses relating the chonology of
events. We don't know if a "day" is a billion years or 24 hours we have a rather narrow view of "time" based on night/day,clocks and 24 hours as defined by us. Gods timeline could be in a totally different realm and we are probably unable to comprehend its structure or have the ability to "measure" it's scope. We live by simple, measurable and logical terms for the sake of human understanding a far cry from supernatural events,
timelines and understanding of our speck in the universe.
I don't think that water is that rare in the universe, after all, the most abundant elements in the universe is hydrogen, helium and oxygen. There are most likely trillions of planets with water.
