Anti-Gay Lawmaker At Gay Club Before DUI Arrest - cbs13.com (http://cbs13.com/local/ashburn.arrest.dui.2.1534505.html - broken link)

Quote:
Sources tell CBS13 a state senator from Southern California was arrested for allegedly driving drunk after leaving Faces, a gay nightclub in midtown Sacramento, early Wednesday morning.

Quote:
Ashburn served six years as a state Assemblyman before being elected to the State Senate. According to Project Vote Smart, Ashburn has voted against every gay rights measure in the State Senate since taking office.

I first became aware of these conflicted souls when I first moved to South Florida 21 years ago. I was new to Ft. Lauderdale and I remember some Lt. Governor going around shutting down strip clubs. What happens next? He's caught in some public place having sex with a prostitute or something else scandalous if I recall. He had to resign.

Morality is not linear, insane. It is not constant and does not stay strong always.

Back in the day, I used to feel ashamed of my porn collections, I'd disconnect my hard drives and put it away for a while.

A week later, I'd be finding myself reconnecting it and slapping a ham to it happily

And I was just a teenager. I had a dual character in me. One side abhorred it, the other would take over whenever it can.

I would think that's what happens with other people.

In this case, what it, just what if we lived in a society where being gay, like masturbation, was not, in many cases, tied to some religious inhibition which has led to all kinds of hatred and discrimination? This dude would be free to do his thing (within the law) and no one would be batting an eye.

Sorry, but what does morality have to do with this? If the guy wants to go to a gay nightclub that is no more immoral than going to the local comedy club, night club or restaurant. His self-inflicted hypocrisy is a product of the irrational Christian and conservative sheep he chooses to pander to.

Despite what they'd like to believe, Christians and other anti-gay folks are not on the side of morality. They are on the side of irrational and outdated religious belief systems and dogmas.

The dude caught in the gay club sure is a hypocrite. He can't be indulging in stuff he's advocating against during the day.

You can keep harping on how it's a product of Christian thought, but I wonder why the 90% hindu majority country that I grew up in abhorred homosexuality too.

These fellas will actually get stoned and belted if caught publicly. So much for Christian belief systems

I dunno how to answer that, insane, but let me just give you a theoretical scenario.

I have a huge dude network. I'm even the leader of the gang coz I'm the most talkative and gregarious.

So, I tell the other guys, say ten guys, that I masturbated, or got a handjob or even got laid the previous night. Immediate laughter, high fives, stuff.......

Scene 2. I tell them I'm gay or something like that. The group will disperse like I have leprosy or something. They will have second thoughts over touching me even.

It's the way society works. You're an adult man, you know it

You're apparently hanging out with the wrong crowd. If one of my friends said he was gay and got laid last night, I'd be high fiving him anyway. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm pretty happy anytime someone gets laid through their own volition.

Politicians are sociopathic liars by nature. Their apologies are apologies of convenience, not sincerity.
