My point is that your beloved Biblical scholars have a penchant for being wrong.
Oh, and 1 word:
Concubines.
I don't have any beloved Biblical scholars. For they come a dime a dozen. Anytime one considers only the human element, you can expect errors. The God of the Bible tells us, we ourselves should study His Word. One can always consider what a Scholar may say. Yet, what one believes should be based on how God directs you, and not some supposed scholar.
And a Concubine, is not a prostitute. And in the Christian faith, a concubine is not an accepted relationship for a man of God.
Solomon had a bunch of them(as well as wives) and god didn't mind. God was more concerned in being Xenophobic than enforcing monogamy.
God had commanded all of Israel to not to have such woman, yet Solomon disobeyed God. And that was obvious in the Biblical account. God did not approve of Solomons lifestyle, and his relationship with these woman hurt Solomons relationship with God.
Deuteronomy 17:17
The king (MUST NOT) have many wives, or his heart will be led away from God.
Malachi 2:14
And why isn't God pleased? It's because he knows that each of you men has been unfaithful to the wife you married when you were young. You promised that she would be your partner, but now you have broken that promise.
All throught the Scriptures, God incouraged men to cling to their wife, and not to other wives, or other woman.
Well, since Christianity took a pre-existing Bible and supplanted it with a new one of their own, it's hard to say that any words written in the Bible would have much of an effect one way or the other on modern adherents of that religion. No matter what verse you quote from the original Scripture, they can always say that their New Testament negates it. I guess it's good to have created a permanent win-win situation for yourself.
lol yeah I guess... If they don't agree then its part of the old covenant and has nothing to do with them if they agree it must point and prove the new testament...
It would have plenty of believers if it confirmed that all the diversity of thought and behavior of the human herd was noble and beautiful; but it would have no more respect than it does now.
