I brought this up in another area of this site: Would Jesus be a Christian? If so, which sect would he choose? Lutheran? Protestant? Irish Catholic? Roman Catholic? Evangelical? Southern Baptist? Eastern Orthodox? Mormon? The list goes on and on...

What do you guys think?

There are two definitions of evangelical. One is the traditional sort, mostly European non-Calvinist groups. Then there is a modern sort of the USA, that stole the name, and is full of legalism and in effect is no different from Catholicism. Jesus will destroy American evangelicals who conform to that definition, but European evangelicalism may be considered as a possibility.

Tend to think he is a leader...not a follower.

I'm sure he would slip quietly in where the Holy Spirit was present. If he could find such a place!

If he became a Christian, wouldn't he be both a leader and a follower, in that he would be following himself?

Seriously, I think he'd clear out the moneychangers from the temple (metaphorically speaking), set the record straight about what he really said and what he was about, and start all over -- if he indeed wanted to start a world religion, which he might not.

Since the post pointing out that Jesus* by definition wouldn't be a follower of any denomination, perhaps a better question is what denominations if any would he allow to follow him?

(*accepting Christ's divinity solely for the sake of discussion)

Probably a Messianic Jew, assuming he existed.
