We don't have to be Christian, but to understand a fireball in the sky, we have to read the Bible?
If it was a meteor, 15 minutes would have meant nothing. A meteor that takes 15 minutes to travel through the atmosphere is large enough that it would impact in those 15 minutes.
On the other hand, I've heard of certain astronomical phenomena that create fireballs, though they're fairly rare and we don't know exactly how it happens.
If, however, it *is* extraterrestrial life -- well, you'd expect a race that's mastered interstellar travel to be able to plot an entry angle in a halfway-competent manner, and if it was a UFO, that fireball kinda indicates otherwise....
I honestly don't know.
