A FORMER vicar-general in the archdiocese of Munich has claimed that he was pressurised last month into taking the blame by the then Archbishop of Munich, Joseph Ratzinger (now Pope Benedict), concerning the case of a paedophile priest.

And even if this particular Pope stepped down, there is no one left to replace him that does not share his views. I wonder what makes me think the former vicar-general was pressured rather than pressurized? That would really be overkill.
Seriously, though; can you actually be surprised? Don't you think that every available human being is going to be called upon to take a hit before allowing such a scandal to taint the Pope?
