I find a lot of religious people are quite judgmental towards non-believers. Can anyone explain this to me? Why, if your "God" says he/she is the judge, would his/her followers be judgmental towards non believers? Isn't it only "God's" place to judge?
I find Atheist are the least judgmental and they don't have spiritual laws to follow.

It may look as if I'm trolling but really, this may help to disarm an attitude I have as an Agnostic/Atheist.

Thanks,
Mike

Because they are insecure in their own beliefs. All who disagree will burn in hell or something. And when you judge, you have no time to love. I guess they don't follow the commandments that Jesus gave after all.

When we love, we accept others for who they are and not their beliefs or how much money they have or what kind of clothes they wear. When we love, we let go and let God.

It's mainly one sect of religious believers who're that way. Anyone who can make a correct guess as to who that is gets a free cyber-cookie.

To answer your question as to why, one word: ignorance. They're as clueless about what an agnostic/atheist believes as you can get. You have to love all the cute little projections they toss on us that they themselves made up

I've never once in my life had any Pagans, Jews, Native Americans, Hindus, or Buddhist tell me I need to believe as they do or I'm going to hell.

There's mainly only one group of people who're desperately trying to prove their beliefs to everyone else.

Actually, there are two--as a variety of new threads in this forum attests. So it's even worse than we imagined!

I dunno, If you read the Christian forum it seems to me that they judge each other more than anyone else...They can judge me all they want, because the only judge that really to me, is me.

"JUDGE"- to form an opinion about through careful weighing of evidence and testing of premises

"JUDGMENTAL"-characterized by a tendency to judge harshly

"Unconditional love"-is a term that means to love someone regardless of one's actions or beliefs.

Thanks Rev and the others for your replies.

I find it just a bit funny that this thread, although read by 90 people, produced only 4 replies to the OP.
How many people choose to pass this thread because they found it to be a conundrum?

Being "judgmental" has nothing to do with a person's religious views. It is an unattractive, unappealing, unhealthy, unevolved, and immature trait in any person.

When a person grows beyond being judgmental towards others, they move into acceptance. They become more able to accept and love themselves, and extend that love and acceptance towards others as well.

Again, nothing to do with a person's religious beliefs at all.

And saying "Atheists are the least judgmental" displays arrogance and boasting superiority, which is an equally unattractive and unappealing and unhealthy behavior, again regardless of a person's religious beliefs. Humbleness is a pleasing quality to cultivate within ourselves instead. Nothing to do with religion at all.

I look at it as them being concverned about the persons eternal soul being lost. People tend to take things as being judgemental and confuse it with love for people

in what areas are these judgmental religious people generally located?
where are you (physically) when the religious people approach and bother you?
