8000 ft = 96,000 inches
96,000 inches @ 3 inches per hour = 3,200 hrs
3,200 hrs = 133 days
133 days = 19 weeks
19 weeks = 4.7 months
HOWZAT!!
If there is about 1800 hrs in two and a half months, and the water had to drop 8,000 feet. It would take about 4.5 (FEET PER HOUR) to accomplish that. That would be more accurate. Of course, this is just a rough estimate on my part. Scripture indicates the Ark landed on Mt. Ararat. And it took 2 and a half months for the tops of the other mountains to be seen. So I'm not really sure if that would be 8,000 feet, or 12,000. So it's just a guess on my part.
Hey, isn't Egypt pretty close to Turkey? Gosh I bet they would have seen some effects from a flood that covered a 14,000 foot mountain just down the Mediterranean Sea a bit.
And,I might add,we STILL have not heard from Campbell about how civilizations such as Egypt's continued uninterrupted through this flood that supposedly killed everyone but those in the ark.
Since it seems necessary to challenge him directly to get a response....how about it,Campbell?
Anybody else get the feeling this question is being studiously ignored?I guess there isn't a good BS answer for how Egypt, along with other places, has civilizations existing before, during, and after the Flood that was supposed to have killed everyone but Noah and his family.

Patience, somewhere out there is a blog or website with the answer, and I'm sure he is looking diligently. If nothing else, his indefatigability is something to behold.

The egyptians went through their 'stargate' to safety...dont you ever watch tv?

Yes, I understand that it was just another one of your 'guesses' that you put forward as fact Tom but you know, it would be better if you just came out and said "Bugger! I got that wrong." After all, you did say 2-4 inches per hour and now you want to change it to 4.5 ft per hour. That's one hell of a difference mate!!

I asked him this question some time ago and if I recall correctly, he came out with some nonsense about flawed scientific dating methods giving the wrong dates for these civilisations.

Of course, but you know those C14 dating methods used on inorganic clay sculptures--those are 110% accurate.
Oh of course!! If memory serves, Tom thinks his flood happened after 3,000 BCE yet Bible chronology dates it at 2304BCE. Odd how he cleaves so closely to the word of his god when it suits him and rejects it when it doesn't.
