What would this world be like without religion? (Notice that did not say without God) Would the world be a better place? Would there be few wars? More love and unity between people? More cooperation between nations? More peaceful Thanksgiving Dinners? Fewer divided families?

What is your opinion.?

My opinion is that the world would be better off. People may disagree and feel that it would be a world with lots of chaos and disorder but we have that now anyway.

I also think the world would be a better place. Religion seems to be at the forefront of armed conflict all over the globe and it's also used as an excuse to suppress the rights of women, particularly in the muslim world. Because religion is so deeply ingrained in every society it's not just going to go away and there's many good people who are deeply religious so I'd like to say that I don't think religion should ever be banned because it's a matter of freedom of thought. I do think that religion will play less of a role in future generations and possibly in a few hundred years it will be something that people read about in history books. For the time being, expect alot of religious turmoil and violence by extremists in every religion.

I am not only spiritual but very religious. I take my religion very seriously and am very devout in it. Having said that I do agree the world would be in general better off. There are far to many wars, hate crimes and just plain prejudice and bigotry done in the name of religion.

Imagine-John Lennon.

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

In my ministry, I have asked this very question and the response is overwelmingly in favor of 'no religion', even from those that proclaim to belong to a particular faith and to be very devout believers. Most people realize that religion has been responsible for many of the world's ills.
