You started this thread asking about what wasn't true in the the Bible. You have had over 30 responses so far and haven't addressed one of them. Did you think we couldn't come up with any??
I have heard them all before and basically they fall flat.
In time science will prove enough of the Bible as true to make the idea that it is a book of fables ludicrous-actually that time is now. Just because one cannot prove every detail does not mean the Bible is bunk.
I have long thought some of the places and people in the bible were real. Many authors look at their hometowns and who they grew up with as inspiration. As Stephen King does with his books, doesnt make his stories true.

Bah humbug...What have you offered here? A bunch of biased apologetic sites, a news article and one opinion piece, all on biblical archeology..I don't think anyone said that some of the history wasn't true, but it is the supernatural stuff we take issue with...Things like flying men, the walking undead, talking donkeys, the fish and loaves story, etc. I notice that you have nothing to say about these types of so called events. How about addressing them, but not with links to apologetic sites...Put your thinking cap on and try using your own words.

OK! So go back to post 4, (or any other of the answers you have been given) and answer the points one by one. Tell us what "falls flat" about them. After all, you started the thread asking what was untrue in the Bible. At least you could have the good manners to address the points that people have taken the time to put forward at your request. If you start a thread you need to defend it not ignore it. Let's discuss each point.
I think the person's original intent was to ask Reverend. (I forget the number in his handle) I don't think they intended it to be mostly atheist responses, but atheists are the most excited by the idea and Christians often think nothing in the Bible is untrue in any sense.
Still even on that I think if you're an atheist who is dealing with a Bible question saying "anything supernatural in it isn't true" is not a good way to go. The person is likely assuming the supernatural is possible, an assumption shared by a majority of the world's non-Christians as well. And proving that all supernatural or miraculous events never happened is a more difficult proposition, more importantly it is not even necessary for the issue at hand.
