If followers simply stated that they believe this or that instead of saying they know this or that
we would not have ,
this and that hostility's to bumble everyone up.
All religions ask is to believe and have faith as no one can lay God out on the table.
Some try, against the supreme will , exalting themselves to be the correct one, looking for attention and it ........
backfires, appropriately.

I think I'll take some words from Terry Pratchett:

Quote:
'I think perhaps the most important problem is that we are trying to understand the fundamental workings of the universe via a language devised for telling one another when the best fruit is.'
The way I see it, we're divided into two groups.

Group A really doesn't want to worry about sin, or Heaven, or God, and couldn't care less if any of them are actually *real*, because by the time they find out once-and-for-all, they figure it'll all be a moot point anyway.

Group B feel that sin, hellfire et al are real and we should wise up before we find out once-and-for-all and end up burning in purgatory.

Neither group is going to succeed in bringing its opponents around to the 'reality' of the situation -- essentially, we've got a sort of 'holy cold war' going on, where each group *knows* that the other is guilty of something, but nobody is willing to sit down and talk about it because hey, they're the ''enemy'', and we don't talk to the ''enemy''.

Until we can sit down calmly, without shouting insults and slandering each other, achieving peace is next-to-impossible.

Sure they will...have you not heard what's going to happen to them? They are going to rise up from the grave, float away on a cloud, pass through pearly gates, walk streets paved with gold...then their creator is going to prepare a table before them in the presence of their enemies and all the while the rest of us(everyone who ever lived that did not believe in Jesus) will be roasting in an eternal inferno of fire and brimstone.

The whole story is built around them being right, everybody else being wrong and their staying alive and experiencing eternal pleasure.

John 14:

6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

there's no consistency in all the storis religious people tell... yet they wish everyone to follow them and agree! How (and for how long) can you get along with people who won't open their mind and eyes to see reality? Sure you can get along on the surface as long as religion doesn't get mentioned...But how can you sit and accept something you know, cannot be real? sooner or later arguments will ensue...

Lack of trust in religion is my guess. The violent history of religions has given all segments of humanity a bad taste of opposing religions. The non religious additionally look and see religions holy books condoning killings, rapes, incest, genocides, and making claims which any educated person would reject under normal circumstances. When these opposing views are mixed and some of the groups feel it their duty to kill off all other views, than impasses will form.

Therein lies the rub. And you might be surprised to know that many Christians feel the same way about atheists.

Atheists and Theists have a different worldview and both sides wonder when the other side will come to its senses.

Yup this is exactly right....

Which leaves me thinking why did you ask the question in the first place if you already know the answer?
