[quote=Mr5150;14318795]Hmm. Rather telling. In North American society maybe 6% of people are atheists. Yet here 77% polled they were atheists (and that was after I voted).
The data suggests that atheists spend more time on internet forums that discuss religion than do theists.

This is a difficult question for some to answer. I would be inclined to vote theist as I believe there is a "something", but have absolutely no idea what that "something" is. Since I do not know what the "something" is, I express this belief in the "something" through my Comanche traditions, as it makes as much sense as anything else.
There are more people identify themselves as as atheists (75% to 25%) because of the anonymous nature of internet. Other poll results show majority religious population maybe exaggerated by the fact that people are under social pressure to identify themselves as religious.
I think atheists are more into the Internet. Also many atheists don't know many atheists in life so they go online to find them.
I have a genetic condition that at most effects 1 in 15,000. However in online discussions that aren't about my condition at all I've occasionally found people with it discussing books or movies or whatever. Some groups are more drawn to online because people won't judge them by their looks or shape the same way. It's possible dwarfs and disabled people in general are overrepresented.
Statistically speaking atheists are also more likely to be unmarried and childless without being part of a community activity. The Internet may provide a community they can relate to that life is not offering for them. Downside is the "echo chamber effect" of the Internet where you can find your own voice, atheist or Fundamentalist or Taoist or whatever, echoed back at you ad infinitum. It can lead to a certain narrowness and loss of touch with reality.

Of course your kids will be christian , soon see what happens when they think about it.
Sorry to disappoint, but they both went thru their thinking and rejection phase (in their teens). Then they came to realise (in their mid 20s) that the truth of the matter was that God is real and Jesus is the way. They are solid Christians.

Then they didn't think about it lol..
