I am looking for paved bike trails (not along side cars) that go for several miles that is all connected without detouring off and back on the trail. Does this exist here and if so where?

There's the paved path that goes along the river. I bike and run on that quite a bit.

Cool, do you know how long it is?

I'm not sure how long. I know it starts out by Sparks, at the edge of town along I80 and goes through town, through downtown and along past Mayberry, up to Pantagonia? Best way I can describe it. There are a couple of places where you do have to go down a street for a bit, but I don't think it's a big deal at all. Nothing's perfect! I'd like to say its 11-12 miles? Don't hold me to it. I've ridden the length of it many times but haven't checked the mileage too closely. It's cool.. crosses the river quite a bit.. wooden bridges and all that. I'll be running about half of it this evening if I ever get my butt out the door. LOL

I bet that the paved trails in SW Reno are like the ones in the Stead neighborhood, they start out looking nice and then they disappear after a few hundred feet.

So, instead of a bridge to nowhere, it's bike pathes to nowhere?

I am glad to see this thread. I plan to go to Reno at least once (and maybe twice a year) for the next few years - and the only good running route I could find is one that starts at Virginia Lake Park - goes south on Lakeside - and hits a turnaround on some hill just past McCarron - i think it is Windy Hill(or something along those lines) it is 3 miles there and 3 miles back to the lake/park.

Thank you all for the other routes - I will be visiting your beautiful city again in the near future!
