Hello,

I will be moving to Minden, NV in Jan 2012 for work. I need advice or suggestions as to where I should live? Currently, I am considering either Minden or Carson City. Please share your thoughts as to which would offer me reasonable apartments to rent. Specifically looking for 1 bedroom 1 bath that is clean and in a safe area. Also trying to avoid section 8 housing. I would also like to know which areas to avoid when choosing apartments due to crimes or other various issues.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, in my opinion stay away from Carson City prison area. Minden is low crime, so no worries. Agreed about section 8 for the most part. There are some bad apples in every bunch.

Carson is a pit, especially Tanglewood Apts. Minden is a good choice. Look in to renting a room or studio from someone who owns a home. There are plenty of nice homes in Minden

Why do you feel that way about Tanglewood?

Personal experience! I also feel the area surrounding it is not all that great! I just wouldn't recommend it.

I have a few friends that live and lived there and enjoyed it. you have private and public tennis courts, private pool and beautiful townhouses for let at very resonalbe rents with 24 our security patrol. I visited and the only negative in that area was the Senator Apts next door other then that. the corner and going south is mainly commercial starting with the Post Office going west is Old carson, and the main strip of retail, casinos, bars, restaurants. You are also steps to all the government buildings, masion and sheriffs office.

I dont know what happen to you at that building but My opinon, that is prime area and very nice, local and close to everything

No offense but you sound like you work for the Chamber. There are few people who can talk it up, especially that area or Tanglewood Apts. Take it for what it is, my opinion after living in Carson from 1989-2008. It hasn't gotten any better since then I can assure you.

lol NO i dont work for anyone my money works for me LOL . I guess what ever your reason to dislike tanglewood, is a personal one and a isolated case. Assuming you no longer live in Carson its changed a lot for the better since 2008 and it gets better every year.
