Out here furniture stores are like stereotypical used car lots with pushy salespeople that don't know their product at all. We were at one where the salesperson told customers that microfiber fabric is water soluble!

I half expect this to be the norm, just thought I'd ask before we move out there and fall back to our usual mishmash thrift store/yard sale/ikea/walmart/2x4 nailed together "decor"

loads of thrift stores and yard sales here in the wamer months.

Sales people here are very ummm lazy so you will not feel that used car sales pitch. Most of the time they are ignoring you and wating for you to come an ask them for help. with the exception of Ethan Allen and there sister store forot the name but its right next to them. .......... Stay a way from Ashley furniture loads of VERY VERY bad complaints /

I've been checking out a few after a move here and had a good experience with RC Willey in Damonte Ranch. They have a wide range of prices and quality, and a huge selection, so you might find something there that meets your needs. There is a furniture clearance center, warehouse type store on Vista in Sparks (a few blocks off the 80) that I haven't been to yet, but might be promising.

I personally like the two consignments stores I've been to. Really nice stuff at reasonable prices. Definitely makes moving in a lot more affordable and they deliver.
