Can anyone suggest a decent place to stay near the airport? I'm going to be in South Lake Tahoe for a week in October, but I have an early flight out of Reno, so I want to find someplace decent (clean, safe and reasonably priced) so I won't have to make the dash to the airport in the morning from someplace far away.

TIA,

RM

There is a brand new Comfort Inn less than a 1/4 mile West of the airport on Plumb Lane. Right across the street there is a Best Western which is fairly nice as well. FWIW, they are supposed to break ground on a new Hyatt Place (also across from the airport) within the next few weeks, but I'm sure you'll probably be here before it opens.

Great! Thanks a bunch! It's never fun to be making that "I have to make my flight" dash first thing in the morning when you don't know the area, traffic patterns, etc.

One last suggestion, since it sounds like you'll have a rental car is the Grand Sierra Resort. It's approx. 3/4 of a mile Northeast of the Airport. You can't miss it. It'll probably be the first thing you see when landing as it's right in the flight path and quite large.

Grand Sierra Resort - (800) 501-2651 | Luxury Hotel and Casino in Reno

If possible I would request one of the renovated rooms. The other rooms are cheaper, but a bit dated IMO.
