I saw in sunvalley the crime statistics in some areas were really low. Our new house is in what is listed as a very low crime area. But the whole neighborhood looks so dumpy.

Are those crime statistics legit, correctly/quickly reported?

A "dumpy" looking area doesn't automatically equate to high crime. Why not contact local law enforcement and see what they have to say about the area? (I would have done that before moving in, if the look of the area, to me, seemed inconsistent with the reported statistics I could find).

The highest rate of property crimes and stolen cars was usually in SW Reno, the area with more money
