Default Does Reno/Verdi Have Woodburning Restrictions?

We have restrictions on certain bad air days here in Sacto, anything like that in the Reno area?
We sure enjoy a warm fire on a cold night! Thanks!

do you have details on this? I'm finding various news articles, the first was a wood burning ban in Washoe county from 2009. I'm not finding anything official on this subject.

We're buying a house with a woodburning fireplace.. so I'd like to find out where the official info is..

thanks.

Washoe county has strict regulations. Im not a lawyer, but I think you can install an EPA-approved woodstove in the Reno metro area.

In Sacramento we just have no-burn days for fireplaces, and OK to burn days with EPA woodstoves.

Its county wide not based on city limits.
To the best of my knowledge woodburning can no longer be installed, stoves are now pellet.
There are burn bans throughout the winter when the inversion gets nasty and unless the stove/fireplace is the only source of heat, then burning is prohibited.

Thanks. Its the same in Sacto; except you can buy an EPA approved wood stove. Last year we had something like 22 no burn days in December.

That only applies November through February according to the FAQ on that site. Probably explains why I couldn't find a current 'burn code'. Good thing the house be bought had a wood burning fireplace already.

Old fireplaces are grandfathered in. We use ours all winter, except for no-burn days.
