Hello,

My wife and I are considering a move to the area and would prefer that our children attend private school. I would appreciate any recommendation/advice you could provide. Our children are currently ages 4.5, 2, and 7 months.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The best school is Coral Academy of Science Charter School. Not "private" but superior to just about any other school public or private in Washoe County
As for private, if you have the money, SageRidge is a high end private
The rest are religion based or Montessori and IMO not necessarily good schools.

Does anyone out there have any info about Sierra Luthern H.S. in Carson? We are going to be visiting the area over New Years looking at a possible move to the area and looking for a good Christian H.S. for my son. THX...

Sierra Lutheran is one of the best private High Schools in Northern Nevada. It is on the Carson City/Douglas County line, but is small, has great academics, and a great, uplifting, tightly knit community. PM me if you have any questions at all.

Not sure the reasons behind your preference for private schools, but if you're put off by negative rankings of NV public schools statewide, I would encourage you to give Washoe County schools a closer look. There are some strong public options here.

i personally think its up to the child regardless of the school. I would AVOID any religious school. I did a 12 yr sentence and wished my parents would have listened to me and they could have done so much with that money they wasted.

I think people should be put off more by the purpose of 'public education' than anything else. For a complete history of that see Read The Book - John Taylor Gatto it's free to read online and full of easily verifiable information about how public education is used to control.

a series of statements easily refutable by anyone who knows anything about public schools..

Remember this about private schools, typically they do not require professionally trained teachers, and pay about half what public schools pay,

So, you must ask yourself who would choose to work a job where there are no required qualifications and get paid half what a qualified professional would get paid.

Would you choose a person like that as your dentist? Or your heart surgeon? or how about a fire department staffed with such?
