No problem

Yes, no nonstop flights to the northeast or Florida. You would think the region would benefit from an occasional direct flight to Orlando or Miami. Nevertheless, I still think Reno has more nonstops compared to other cities of similar size.

Whatever happened to the non-stop gambling charters to Reno from all over? I've had several friends that used to go that way and there were always last minute seats. (Seattle, Vancouver British Columbia). They didn't gamble (much) but a great hotel room and even some chips were included.

Surprising since it's also the home of Learjet; or am I dating myself??

I do not remember gambling junkets to Reno. I do remember and often took gambling junkets to Elko through the Red Lion/ Casino Express. Those were an absolute blast.

Most airlines except for SW fly regional jets out of Reno, some of those flights are direct but most involve a stop at their hub. For example, United flights almost always involve a plane change and a ride from the commuter terminal where the RJ lands to the main terminal. Southwest no longer flies direct Reno to Oakland or San Jose, so those 1 hour flights now take 3-5 hours. Until 2 years ago I flew over 100k miles a year out of Reno and detested it. It's probably not a big issue if you are going on vacation once a year, but when you are flying once or twice a week, and flights that would take an hour or two if flying out of Las Vegas end up being 3 or 4 stop milk runs that take 4-8 hours it gets old really fast

I just met a woman who was once a flight attendant for Casino Express. When I lived in Oklahoma City they flew Elko junkets out of there. I never made the trip myself, but people who did said that they had a great time.

The trips to Elko were an ABSOLUTE blast.

The flight attendants were serve beverages once the plane got up in the air and never stopped. Also, they have these games where they would collect a dollar from each customer and then, pick a winner who would win all the $1 bills. Then they repeated the same for $5, $10, and $20 bills.

They had three hotels to choose from including the Red Lion and the Best Western. And the package deals received some of the best rooms. Check-ins took seconds.

Elko, while no Reno, had enough things going on to keep you occupied.

There was no gambling requirement in the last five years.

There are junkets to Wendover but honestly, there is not much to do there, except to gamble.

You can certainly find non-stops, and not just on commuter jets, to major hubs like LAX, SFO, DEN (UA on Airbus 319 and 320, as well as Canadian Reginal Jet), DFW (AA on MD80) and IAH (UA on Airbus 320).
