I have a hearing disability that tends to make me sensitive to background noise - so, to say the least, my experiences in university housing have not gone over well.
I'm looking for apartments that are quiet, especially in terms of neighboring tenants - places with mostly adult or senior residents would be ideal. And given my decidedly low income, the lower the rent, the better.
Also, if anyone could warn me of places that are noisy and/or are "college communities", that would give me worlds of help as well.

Thanks in advance!

Stay away from anything around the University - those will be heavily congested with students. N. Virginia St all the way to the Bonanza Casino will have a heavy student population as will Sierra St and just about anything between Virginia and Keystone on the Northern side of Hwy 80

There are a couple of apartment complexes in the North Valleys that are going to be more reasonable than many other places around town.

Silver Lake Apartments | ERGS Properties

Sierra Sage Apartments | ERGS Properties

Unless things have changed that I am unaware of, stay away from the apts. in the Brinkyby and RobinHood areas. These are between Plumb and Moana on the Western side of Virginia St. This is also sometimes called the Peppermill Hotel area.

Stay away from Neil and Peckam area as well as Grove St. also.
