Hello! Our family is planning a move to Incline Village. My husband will commute to Reno, but not every day, he can choose when he goes, but it will be weekly. My question on this is about the commute in the winter. Also, we have 5 kids, 4 will be in school, elementary and middle school. We would be in Incline full time year round, I am just looking for thoughts on the lifestyle, fun for kids, and also a recommendation on a good Christian church with a good youth group for the kids and also schools, we currently homeschool, and can continue. We are relocating from So. Cal, My husband owns a waste hauling and recycling tire company, he will be running a yard out of Reno. I have also considered Virginia City for living, I would so completely appreciate any advice or thoughts. We are a very low key family, used to living rural, we live in a cabin in the forest outside Orange County, and have lived rural in San Diego County. I am from Mill Valley, and my husband from San Clemente. We have not lived in the snow, but are considering this move for a myriad of reasons, but mainly for our business. I have been to Tahoe, but not to Incline Village, we will be renting from my sister who owns a home there, before we buy to make sure it is a right choice for us. I also lived in Reno briefly when I was 19.My husband and I are both 40, our kids are 17,12,10,7 and 5. Thank you for any input, just looking for pros and cons. Thanks so much!

Wow, that's a wall of text. You might want to at the least edit into paragraphs so it's easier to read.

As far as snow and driving, do you have an AWD or 4WD vehicle? I think living in Incline Village and needing to commute to Reno.. it may not be necessary but it'll sure be handier than installing and removing tire chains.

You might also want to be more specific on what type of Christian church.. unless any will do?

Sorry about the run on text, I am terrible with this kindle I am on, and hyper verbal evidently...My husband will have a 4WD truck, and as far as a church, a non denominational is fine, but we have attended a Presbyterian that was fantastic too, so we would like to attend a few if possible and find a fit. Thanks for your input!

4wd with snow rated tires should be good enough, in particular if he can chose when to come in. The rest of the stuff, I can't help with.. but hopefully someone will be along shortly with more info.

I would suggest, if you haven't already, googling churches in the general area you will be living in. Often individual churches will have their own web sites for you to peruse. Google can be a good friend when considering a move like you intend.

Thank you for the pointers, I did Google for churches and found one in walking distance from the house that could be a good start. We won't be moving until late spring, early summer, so we will have time to figure out the roads, and schools once we get there, thank you for the advice, hearing about a place from people that live there is the best!
