I am from the midwest but live in Oregon. When I moved here I discovered that almost all the rental housing is owned by companies and they treat their applicants like criminals. In the midwest if you have references, cash, and dont look like a criminal, you have no problem. In Oregon they care about credit and have strict criteria. Even though the town I am in is a s*thole.
