For the past month my wife and I have been reading some of your fine posts on this forum. We have learned so very much. Thank you all for the wealth of information. Thanks to everyone this has inspired us even more to make the relocation from the suburbs of Los Angeles to the Carson City area.

I know some of you out there don't especially welcome transplants from California....But please don't dislike. We're just two hard-working people seeking a better life and to get away from the hustle-bustle of the city life....and from our short visit in July, we found all of the people we came in contact with VERY nice and VERY welcoming....Just our kind of people!

One challenge we face is employment. We're not in the position to retire quite yet. Would I be out of line soliciting for a job and/or posting a link to my resume on this forum?

If not, I understand. I'm just trying to be resourceful and perhaps someone in this group either can or knows of someone that can use our experience in their business. You can even PM me if you'd prefer.

Thank you everyone!

Need more information. Since you've not mentioned what you do or can do, nor what you're looking for, it might be difficult for anyone to propose something you'd be interested in.

Give us a bit of information about the work that you both do. If anyone has any leads I'm sure they would PM you. I don't think posting a link to your resume is a safe idea on a forum.

Thank you utsci...My background is in Operations Management, specifically in the direct mail & marketing industry. In my last position I was General Manager for one of largest mail order wine clubs in America. I also have tenured management experience in product nutritional supplement fulfillment operations, call center operations, and print production.

Planning on targeting Sierra Nevada Media Group/Swift Communications. Does anyone out there have any contacts at this company?

Or, perhaps if any of you know of other companies I can target?

Thank you all in advance!

PS. My wife is a cashier at CVS, so perhaps she can put in for a transfer request.

If it's necessary for you to work when you move- I would get a job first. Northern Nevada is not a hotbed of hiring particularly for management jobs. Try indeed.com, renotahoejobs.com or craigslist there are some scams on craigslist but you sound smart enough to weed those out & good luck!

I was thinking the same thing! The CVS transfer will be far easier than operations management. Although, the OP might want to keep an eye open at the Tesla site, maybe send them a resume. I have no connections there, but seems like warehousing and the manufacturing to support Tesla might be a good place to look for operations jobs. Good luck!

Thank you all for your advice and help. If anyone has any additional resources, or perhaps knows of someone that's seeking someone with my experience, please don't hesitate to DM/PM me.

Once again, thank you to everyone who responded to my post.

There is an "Operations Manager Fulfillment Center" opening at Zulily's website. I would guess the location is in Reno. I don't think they did a good job describing the location on the ad.

the job market here is shaky at best, please remember with you coming for cali that Nevada is indeed a right to work state which means wages aren't going to be that of what your use to. So be prepared with few job prospects in a town like Reno its really about who you know. Not trying to rain on your parade but ive seen people move here from cali to be meet with slim to none job prospects only to move back to cali....
