Default Are there any ice hockey rinks/ leagues in the Reno/ Sparks vicinity?

I'm relocating from Colorado to either N Cal or NV. I enjoy playing ice hockey and was wondering if there are any rinks in the Reno/ Sparks area. It looks like a nicer place to live than Sacramento, but I'd really like to continue my lifelong hobby. Thanks in advance for your responses!

We are newbies to this area, but from what I have been told, the closest ice rink is in Squaw Valley in Tahoe. They say that roller hockey is big here. Maybe others know more??

The ice rink downtown is outdoors and therefore only open in the winter months.

I heard on the radio the other day that an ice rink is going in next to that new mall off I-80 and Sparks Blvd. I don't think construction on the rink has started yet. There's supposed to be an IMAX theater going in there, too.

Here is an article:

RGJ.com: Project Brainstorm '07: Ice arena requests dominate

So, it appears that there will be an ice rink at the legends at sparks marina which will be a new mall.

I just came back from a hockey tournament in South Lake Tahoe. The arena was very nice. There seemed to be a few local teams and they had a minor hockey system also. South Lake Tahoe is about 1 hour from Reno.
