I was wondering if it's safe for a senior woman to walk or hike alone in the Mound House area? I have a small dog that I walk on leash but I'd like to convince my husband that I have reason to keep my German Shepherd.

Guess I'm bringing my shepherd. Can't be any worse than where we live now. Just want to live simple, enjoy nature and mind my own business.

'Safe' is a tiny word loaded with misconceptions. Most people think that if they FEEL safe they are safe, nothing could be further from the truth. Bad things happen to people in all sorts of places, crime statistics do not matter one bit when you are assaulter/robbed/what have you.

In the end your safety is your responsibility.
