Thinking of moving to Gardnerville or Minden, NV
I'm seriously considering moving my family to the Gardnerville/Minden area. How are the jobs in the area for managers? I used to be a high level manager for a motorsports company and would like to find something in the automotive or marine fields. Carson city, Tahoe and Reno are close enough to commute.
It looks like a great area and has many the things we are looking for. Are there any issues about living there that we should be aware of?

Expensive
Minden is beautiful...however real estate is very expensive. When you say that you can commute to Tahoe, beware that the mountain passes receive huge amounts of snow during winter and can be quite treacherous. Renos is now a one hour commute from Minden.
