What are the names of the neighborhoods to the east? I shall definitely avoid. Thanks!

Does anyone know who created the crime map? I think it's a bit questionable as well. It will generally illustrate many apartment complexes as safe and then show an area across the street from them as being unsafe. So I'm having a hard time telling if the overall neighborhood is safe.

Edited to add that the crime map isn't so far off. I looked one "bad neighborhood" up on street view and it looked very sketchy.

The crime map seems to be colored by zip code.

I read the directions this time and now I see more detail. I had to click the zip code.

Since Reno seems to be having a housing crisis/shortage, is it harder to find available apartments? For instance, would there be too much competition to get available apartments?

I've browsed around, but I'm not sure if I'll get the places I want by the time graduate school starts.

When I moved to the area in '05, there was a number for RPD, specifically for those questions. They were very helpful when I inquired. I'd give either RPD or Washoe County Sheriff's Office a call.

If you are referring to learning about areas of higher crime, that was perhaps what was best in '05. However, in 2017 I'd suggest (again) downloading the free app "myRPD" sponsored by the Reno PD as I mentioned upthread. It will show you all of the reported crime incidents in any particular area on a map, and is probably much faster than taking up someone's time at the RPD or Sheriff's Office.
