Hi all. Just wondering what you think of the lake? Is it as pretty as I've heard? Is there a beach? Picnic area? Fishing?

Thanks.

I think it is unique and beautiful but underutilized and underdeveloped by the Indian tribe.

Yes, there are fishing opportunity and beach. The water is pretty to look at from afar but cloudy due to sediment

The lake is on an indian reservation and I think you need both an Indian and state fishing license to fish there. Check out Lahontan Lake east of Carson City which has picnic areas, camping and fishing, but no sandy beach to speak of. Lahontan State Recreation Area | State Parks

Both lakes have Lahontan Cutthroat Trout Lahontan Cutthroat Trout – Western Native Trout

Neither Pyramid or Lahontan are worth a squat compared to Tahoe. Just sayin'

We've only been to Pyramid twice in 35 years. There's not a stick of shade and the wind comes up almost every afternoon. The lake itself is beautiful and the fishing is good when fishing is good. On the other hand, bring your own shade, 4WD ( deep sandy soil gets many stuck out there), and plan on a day trip rather than camping.

The east side looks interesting — Pyramid Island, Artillery Bay, and Howitzer Slide. I might check it out on Friday on my way to Gerlach.

No trees by the lake. Camped there a few times and woke up every morning to my tent on fire. Not for me.
