I've been a housewife for (eek) 20 years. I'm also new to Reno. Sons now both in college. I'd like to get a part time job. While I have personal references--I don't have a single work reference. I'm not looking for a "CAREER," just a get out of the house part time job. I'd rather not work in a fast food restaurant--but would even consider that. My question is: Any suggestions? I'm only 42, but I feel completely in over my head. I tried to fill out some online applications, but the fill in the blanks---left a lot of blanks.

Thanks for any advice!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Many moms find this when they reenter the work force. Just find a place you like and apply.

Find all the places that appeal to you, and apply. Ya never know. Raleys is a good place to apply, they are opening a new store and so there are openings as folks at the established stores transfer to the new one. Good pay, good benefits, good company.

I'm new to Reno, too. I'm a 34 year old female that came here with my boyfriend 2 months ago. I've been loving it. I love the road biking, mtn biking and I do a lot of running, so this city has been great. It's been hard to meet new people though and make friends.

Good luck to you!
