I am wondering if anyone has an inground pool in the Reno area. We moved here from Southern CA where pools are popular and used year-round. We would like to have one put in here but wonder what to look for in this type of climate (snow in the winter, etc.).

Does anyone have recommendations for a really good pool contractor?

Make sure you at least partly empty that bad boy for winter, and get ready to add constant water to it in the summer. It evaporates QUICK out here. Not a lot of private pools here.

It depends where you live in Reno... in the South Meadows, you really need to talk to a pool specialist because there is water 20 ft under the ground. A few of my neighbors have pools and they have this thing installed under the pool that keeps it level.

Well, that doesn't sound good. Maybe I'll have to settle for a pond.
