i've always enjoyed the Silver Legacy myself. it's a beautiful hotel, the buffet is pretty o.k. and you should hit up Rum Bullions Island bar while you're there.
the information desk should be helpful with things to see and do.
I LOVE the Silver Legacy. The laser show is worth the trip in all by itself!

Can anyone recommend what to see or do in the lake tahoe area? Cliffs or boat rentals or hiking trails? Mountains?

Cold in the mornings and evenings, like mid to low 30's. Some afternnoons it can reach the 60's/low 70's.

Generally unstable weather all around.
