Default Typical commute from Stead to Reno/Truckee

I've been using Craigslist to search rentals in the Reno area, but have noticed some larger homes for the same prices in Stead. What is the traffic like on 395/80 during commute hours to Reno or Truckee? Coming from the Bay Area, I'm use to sitting in traffic for an hour to get to work 12 miles away. Is it that bad?

You really need to look at the neighborhoods in Stead in person. It has really close proximity to some of the rougher parts of the Reno area.

Your commute times regardless will be nowhere near the amount you had in the Bay Area.

I'm hoping to spend some time looking at areas in a few weeks. We liked the NW area of Reno, and will look at the SE & Stead next time. The NW area was slightly more expensive, so that's what lead me to Stead.

Default it can be bad

Beware of what these fools have posted, they probaly still think Reno is a "small town" of which it hasn't been for about 10 years now, so YES, the traffic CAN be about an hours wait, Im stating a fact, just the truth, now it's not always like that.

Yeah, when there is an accident.

Too bad there are no surface streets to use. That would make the Boston like Reno gridlock so much easier to deal with.

Shame.

Well, that is what we are looking for. My husband & are are not your typical Marin-ites. We actually truly dislike Marin, and what it has become in the last 20 years.

We briefly checked out Stead this weekend, and it did see like it was in the Middle of nowhere. But it's not off the list.

Thank you for your opinions & advice.
