Default Southwest Reno

I'll be moving my wife and child to Reno to work at the airport..currently am in oklahoma and wont have much time to look around once im to report to work..so id really appriciate if anyone could give me some honest input on this specific location. its in southwest reno.. http://www.lakeridgeapts.com/index.html

has anyone heard anything about these apartments? they seem nice, and the area seems nice but id like a true opinion on the general safetey of southwest reno, seems nice and close to the airport so the commute wouldnt be too much of a problem, but like anywhere else some places near airports arent too great, so i need some help!

thanks

Funny how they don't seem to list the actual address on the website, or at least I can't find it.

Any clue of exact address with zip code?

I know that the area around Plumas north of McCarran is quite nice, relatively quiet, often residential, "traditional" Reno (the old southwest), and strategically placed with respect to the casinos, downtown, and the airport, while I am not familiar with south of McCarran.

There are some relatively low-scale apartment communities in the area that cater to casino workers, but maybe some else has more specific information on the complex that you refer to. Comparative price may be an indicator.

Good luck.

These apartments are in an excellent location especially with your working at the airport. You’ll never have to take the freeway so you can avoid the traffic jams. There is a Starbucks across the street if that’s your thing, an Albertson’s and Super Wal-Mart are just down the street and a Safeway. Restaurants galore and the mall. Those apartments are zoned for Huffaker Elementary which is an excellent school.

I’ve never been in an apartment at Lakeridge but they seem to pride themselves on their upscale image. The grounds are always kept and since the apartments are a little older the trees are mature. Overall, based on where you’ll be working it seems like a good choice. You can find cheaper but you may not want to live there.

I don’t know what Lakeridge is charging but you may also want to consider Lakeside Village Apartments. They’re just a block or two north on 1555 Ridgeview drive. They’re older as well but kept up. They were very quiet when I lived there and the location is really nice. I found the prices in an apartment guide
2 bedroom from $885, 2 bedroom town home from $950, 3 bedroom town home from $1200. You don’t get the fitness club like Lakeridge has but they had an indoor and outdoor pool from what I remember. 866-811-5336

Default Southwest Reno Apartments

Hi Friends,

We discussed this about a month ago.

Saywhuut, did you move into either Lakeridge Apartments or Lakeside Village? If so, how do you like it?

I may have an interest in a furnished two-bedroom for about three months.

Renoguy, or someone else, do know of any well-kept, safe, quiet places amenable to such a short-term furnished rental? This may have been discussed on another thread, perhaps a guy coming from Washington, DC. Any useful pointers greatly appreciated.

Thanks

i haven't picked yet on which ones to move to..but i have heard those places are in a nice area..im considering either southwest reno or sparks so sorry i cant give you a detailed answer yet! silvercreek has some nice condos that may be furnished for rent http://www.silvercreekreno.com/site_plan/ you may want to give them a call and they are in the northwest reno which is nice as well. it seems if you can afford about 1150/1200 bucks a month you can find a really really nice home to rent from or condo.
