Extradition from Reno to PA
My fiance is supposed to be extradited from Reno,NV to Pittsburg, PA for a robbery felony that happened in 2004. It was drug related and I want to know if I can get his case transferred here (avoid extradtion) and have him entered into a drug court program with probation here in Reno? Who should I have him talk to or does anyone know who I can talk to in regards to having his case handled in Reno instead of Pennsylvania? Anything would help :-)

You would have to contact the DA that is filing the charges. If he is fighting extradition, I believe he has the right to a lawyer. They will be able to look into it.

since the case is in another state, most likely he will be extradited there, tried and if found guilty sentenced. There is an interstate compact regarding transfer of probation and parole - I believe if he has immediate family in Reno he would probably be eligible for a transfer of probation.

there is no way to 'handle'the case from nevada.if nevada has him and pa wants him he will get extradited.if pa declines to pay the cost of extradition and doesnt get him in a set amount of time nevada has to release him.if he is sentenced to probation and lives in nevada they will likely transfer the probation.if he is sentenced to jail he will serve it in pennsylvania.once he is extradited they may still release him on bail[believe it or not]pending trial.depending on the strength of thier case, his past record, and the mood of the judge he may get unsupervised probation because he lives in another state and they dont always like to go through the hassle of supervised probation.the pa district attorney wont want to do anything until hes back in the state, for that matter they may not even assign a da until he is extradited.

it is also a crime in many states to be in the state if you are a 'fugitive from justice'from another state.usually if you waive extradition they drop the charge.if nevada has such a law and pa declines to extradite they 'could'charge him under their law with being a fugitive because the pa warrant would still be valid.states dont like having people 'hiding out 'in their state.the best way to handle this is to go back to pa and get a good lawyer they do an amazing job of keeping people out of jail who deserve to be there.

If he fights extradition, he may just be delaying the inevitable. If PA wants him, they will get him. It'll be quickest for him if he waives extradition.

If he didn't want to be extradited, then why did he commit a crime in PA, and then flee to NV? Why did he coomit the crime at all?

Extradition from Reno to PA
I was extradited from Reno (Washoe County) to California while in custody. I may be able to help you. Has this problem been resolved yet?

ok i know that this is a little diffrent but i know someone who is to be extradited to pa from tn. he had got into a fight in pa over one year ago and had recently moved back to his homestate. they just picked him up last week on a fugitive from justice charge among many others and they are suppose to get him by wenesday wich is tomorrow. or he goes back before the judge and they will let him go. either by dismissal or bond we are not sure yet. but we can not find any info from hardly any where. any comments or thoughts on this would be much apperciated.
