Default Need Information On Fernley

We are looking at relocating in the next few years. We moved to Tennessee a couple years ago and love it here from Central California. But we miss family and friends and would like to move closer. I have been doing searching and searching.

Fernley has come up several times. Is there anyone on City-Data that lives in Fernley and would be willing to answer some questions?

Thanks Lee

Don't live in Fernley, but visit often. It's a growing city with housing costs slightly lower than in Reno. A new Walmart and Lowe's went in recently. Have any specific questions?

Thanks for the flood map info. I lived in California when all that happened....

One of my questions is drinking water quality and my wife wants to know if it is really windy there. She has a friend who lives on the High Dessert in So. Calif. so she worried about it being windy day in and day out. Are there any areas we should avoid? Landscaping is another concern we are both retired and don't want to do a lot of landscaping (to the point we are thinking condos in Reno/Sparks) but we have a 5th wheel travel trailer and we would want to keep it at home and be able to take off and travel for weeks at a time.

The Wal-Mart/Lowes questions I had thought about asking were already answered......

Thanks for your time Lee
