They Don't Call Hot August NIghts out here for nothing.........Reno, carson, tahoe reach the low 100 and some humidity but not a lot of humidity but enough to make your hair frizz and feel clammy

Does anyone have any knowledge about Nevada and it's weather? I am looking for a moderate temperature, other than San Diego, CA. I thought about Nevada because the cost of living is lower there and it seems to have more affordable housing. I am looking for a townhouse to rent, it's just me and the dog. I am also looking to finish school and work in the medical office field. Being a senior citizen and pretty laid back, I'm not concerned about the "night life". If anyone could help me find a direction to go in when it comes to my relocating, I really could use some suggestions.

Default Help! Need to relocate to moderate climate

Currently I live in the Portland, OR area and boy is my body paying for it! I've lived here since 2002 and find that I am having more difficulty with being mobile each winter. I would like to move to San Diego, CA, but if I could find some place comparable to San Diego's I would look into that as well. I am over sixty and on a limited income so moving to CA scares me a bit. Some friends have suggested Nevada. I have done some research and it seems that Nevada just may work for me when it comes to housing and the cost of living. I have also noticed that some area get snow while others get to the boiling point. For health's sake I need something more in between. So far in researching certain areas in Nevada I have not been able to discern what part of Nevada would most suit my needs. If anyone out there could help me I would greatly appreciate it.
