You know, as a renter but a deeply private person, with nothing to hide, it does feel like an invasion to have someone go into your home and look through your stuff, even if it is for a legitimate reason. It's hard to feel comfortable with your life being put on display. Landlords and tenants, let's not forget that- despite the legalities.
The LL shouldn't be looking through your stuff. His only interest should be in HIS real property, not your personal items. You could report him for that.
yes, the cabinets are part of the structure and should be checked for insects, water damage, needed repairs etc. If there's something in the cabinet that you wouldn't want LL to see you should move it before he gets there.

Different thread, still wrong...!
I suggest you spend as much time getting a good job as you do complaining on CD, about how unfair the world is, and then buy auntie a home of her own that no one will ever step foot in...
Life is really that simple.
I think there is a big difference between having something to hide, and having someone you barely know walking around the house like that, it is very hard for some people to go through that, to have your life on display. It would be for me, and not all people can buy property. It's an awkward situation.
