a friend of mine who's not exactly a computer person wanted a question answered about the washing facility in his complex.
the apartments are not public housing but they do accept section 8, etc etc... but its about as quiet as a morgue over there.
he works in a factory 6 days a week and everytime he gets home, all the washers and dryers and being used. i've been over there and it looks like no one works so that means they're home 24/7 which means they can pick another day to wash or at least not wait til he has a day off. the landlord/manager doesnt live on site and im not even sure they're in the same state.
Not really. Those other people have the right to do laundry when they choose, and they are first come first serve.
The options are to do laundry either early in the morning or late at night after others finish and on his day off, or to go to an offsite laundry facility and pay to do the laundry, or to make friends with a few of the neighbors who are there at the same time as him and politely mention that he is having trouble finding a time to squeeze this in, and see if anyone offers to change to a different day or time.

We used to live in a condo complex. Our laundry had machines that were connected to the internet. You could pull up the page on the computer or a smart phone and see which machines were available. It also showed activity records if you needed to do 15 loads at once you could plan for a low use period.
Plus, and this was so cool, the machines would call you on the phone when your load was done.

Agreed its first come first serve. What does your buddy want to do, set aside the laundry machines for only him between the hours of 10pm and 6am?
well theres an entire room full of washers and dryers.......just at a glance it looks like theres 12 or more pairs and theres only like 18 units. i grew up up an apartment complex in a big city and they had to actually go through and split up washer use by day. only one set too so it was needed
I recommend doing all the laundry at a laundrymat on the off day. In general the machines are bigger and you get more bang for your buck doing it there too. Like other posters have said, you're pretty much out of luck since its first come first serve.
I'd move to a place with hookups or hit the laundromat
