I don't have Section 8 but I live in an apartment complex that takes it. I rent under the Federal tax credit system. I know that people on Section 8 lists can find out where their position is on the list.

I am on the waiting list for a smaller apartment so my rent will go down, but the manager will not tell me or show me where I am on that list. She wants to keep all the most expensive units rented, so I don't trust her to let me know when I can get into a cheaper unit. But since this is a Section 8 complex, is there a Section 8 regulation that would force her to tell me where I am on the complexes internal waiting list?

Not that I am aware of for privately owned units...

Now, if the complex is owned by a government agency such as the local Housing Authority... finding you position should be simple.
