Default I heard a loud BOOM from upstairs........

I just heard a loud BOOM coming from the guy that lives above me. It was so loud, I could not ignore it.

I went upstairs to take a look and his drunk girlfriend fell on the floor knees first at the door.

That's just terrible that someone gets that drunk. I guess this is the downside of renting.

PS- Yes, I am talking about this guy from this thread

Renting just sucks, Ron..

It's no better when you spend $$$ on a house and the guy next door refused to clean his yard, or his kids throw rocks at your houses or break your windows (had this when we owned a house) but at least it's your space.

At least it's material for a book should I ever want to write one about renting.

Yeah, it can suck to rent. Although I will admit this is the nicest place that I've ever rented but it is also the worst experience. I cannot ever recall complaining about noise nor calling the landlord for anything. Not even repairs.

Had a neighbor that fell asleep and set his chair on fire with the smoldering into the wall.
I had to break down his door and drag his sorry a$$ out.

Real old house converted into apartments...
if his unit didn't have a transom window (then completely obscured by smoke)
I might have let the still faint smell go for another hour before acting.
(still called the Fire Dept)

Sounds to me like responsible drinkers. At least they are not doing it somewhere else and then driving home drunk.

It certainly can! My friend and his girlfriend were paying 1100 for a small 1 bedroom in a private house here in Brooklyn, And had to move because of the hot-tempered guy upstairs stomping around all night, Lack of heat and hot water, And a ceiling that had a king sized crack in it. They found a cheaper, nicer place that is quiet.

Crazy neighbors, maintenance issues, vermin, filth. Comes with the territory sometimes. A persons home should be a sanctuary, A retreat. And peaceful.

was the girlfriend inside or outside the door?

how can you be sure she made the noise with her knees? She might have fallen into the door head-first to make the boom and then slowly slid to the floor like in the cartoons.

ironically, your downstairs neighbor probably thinks you're the drunk one.

The blues musician R.L. Burnside said it best..."Drink till you feel good then don't drink no more."

Sorry you have to suffer because others are losers. Try to move to an upstairs unit.
