Go to place the rents DJ equipment. Get about a million watts of amplifiers and some of them HUGE speakers like they have at the clubs. Make a sound loop of Michelle Larcher de Brito & Maria Sharapova featuring their all out loudest most exuberant grunts and when the party starts you just turn your rig to 11. That ought to intimidate the couple, heck, if you're lucky you might win some new girlfriends or at least get asked out...

Okay so I am having the same problem the police came and said there was nothing they can do and police was rude so I called the deputy Sargent and he apologized and told me he had just got off the phone with his deputy and told him to come back and correct the issue with the neighbors so if you call the police make sure they are doing their job And my complex already have them a warning and I was told to call back if it does not stop so I will be calling tomorrow wish you the best of luck oh and ps I talked to them way before I started to complain.... They are morons

Honestly, this is more the fault of poor construction and lack of adequate sound-proofing between apartments--unfortunately something that is extremely common.

Are some of you really suggesting that this fellow should try to restrict his sex life? Surely, all of us have a right to have sex at night as we wish. It's not like he is playing loud music or dancing---he's engaging in average normal behavior.

To the sufferer of the noise, ear plugs, a fan for white noise, or move to an apartment on the top level of a building. I've lived in so many apartments with noise issues, including the expensive condo I live in now (traffic noise that starts early in the morning), that I can no longer sleep without ear plugs and a fan.

no, at 3 am, no one should have to just "get over it". whether it be sex or playing the drums, yoru neighbors shouldn't have to hear it at 3am.

Well I am a man, and no, I do not want my next door, or below me neighbors to know when I 'do it". I made sure the headboard was bolted to the wall, thus preventing banging, and I also made sure the matttress and box spring were also secured to the bed frame also secured to the floor.

I don't want to hear my bed make noise, it even annoys me.

I think it is embarrassing to have your neighbors 'hear you", in the midst of playtime.....

and trust me, he ain't any more man than I am. LOL, that is ridiculous thinking. ha ha ha

i still stand by what i said originally. When they are doing it at 3am, and you are awoken, bang on the ceiling with thebroom, myabe it will kill their mood, or leave an embarassing letter on their door....

I think I'd give the guy the benefit of the doubt and assume he does not know how the noise carries. If it turns into a persistent problem, I'd write him a note (anonymously if you would be more comfortable that way) and tastefully and non-accusatorily let him know what you can hear him "doing it." "The soundproofing in this complex leaves a lot to be desired." End it with "just wanted you to know." If he's a jerk he'll do nothing. If not, there may be some improvement. Or this might be a one-time event and he won't get lucky again until one or the other of you move out.

Don't be passive aggressive, just act as an adult, approach this person and tell them that the sound proofing in the apartment may not be as solid as they may think, and that you can hear them banging away.

Then ask that they take this into consideration... and maybe ask to join in.

Who knows? Could end up being a wonderful thing.

(and that's how I met your mother kids!)

I agree on a note. I spend a lot of time at my boyfriend's apartment and we had no idea how bad the soundproofing was... yeesh! His neighbors got a whole lot of homemade baked goods for their troubles. I felt AWFUL!

i was truing to be sarcastic on it in my area if you called because of boom boom from the bed frame. or load moaning the cops would laugh at it. when my g/f wants it she get it..(not trying to be dirty here) if she uses her toy she is loud and rocks the bed. in a building i take care of had a tenant complain about another apt. i thought and so did the cops laugh when the guy wanted them arrested because the was unwed and living together and having sex. the complaint tenant was from the middle east. the cop just told him welcom to the usa.
