I am talking about the ones that work for leasing companies such as "Chicago apartment finders" is it a good job? I know that it is a commission based job but how hard is it to rent an apartment? Is the income stable or one week you make some $$ and the other none?

A leasing agency's fee charged to the landlord is usually one month's rent, typically half of which goes to the leasing agent. So it could be that you make $2,000 one week, and $0 the next. That's the nature of a sales job. You're also on the hook for business expenses like car/gas/insurance, advertising/marketing fees, etc.

That may be how real estate sales work. It's not how leasing agencies work. There is no such thing as a "double ended listing."

My ex wife worked as a leasing agen in about 1995 and she made around 1600.00 plus maybe 20 mo in bonus. Not much but she got a free apt and there was no gas to drive to work.
