If the place is that bad why would you have yet another kid who has to live there? I know that sounds mean but geez.

Have you tried scrounging up some loose change for some damn pest control??

Seriously, if things are so bad, do them yourself. Then bill the landlord.

I mean.. goddamn! if the house is on fire, would you complain that the landlord didn't pick up his phone when you called him so he could call the fire department??

Sounds like terrible living conditions. Is the house a low-income or government program house (something like Section 8)? I believe there are codes and basic standards that have to be met for the LL to qualify to offer Section 8 (I may be way off base though).

Look online or in the phone book and find the Department of Health number. Ask for it from your social worker. Ask for it from the WIC office. Any of the offices you may go to for assistance with medical, food, or housing will have a contact number for you.

Why don't you just move out and get something a little nicer? Keep it clean, use some bug spray and you won't have roaches and bedbugs.

Lol. Yup. I rarely look at the original post date. Nice catch. I was going to suggest a 10 day non compliance of repairs but since its almost a one year post, either she moved or the roaches, spiders or bed bugs got them. So blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda
