Our lease expires in August and the landlord is suppose to notify us in advance of what the new rates would be and we must give 60 days notice if we are not extending. I stopped in early June to see if they had our rates, they quoted prices for various lengths, and said they would send us the info in a letter like originally intended. After two weeks with no letter I inquired again and now the prices they have given are all higher than the ones originally given. Am I right to expect them to honor the previous prices, especially considering that I should have already had something in hand before then or they should have immediately sent me a letter when I requested it?

Unless there's a clause in the lease which addresses how far in advance your LL has to notify you of any rent increase following expiration of the term, no. You've officially been given at least a month and, as the previous poster noted, you unfortunately didn't get the previous quotes in writing.

Although I don't think they could be held to the 60 day notice to not extend if the LL tells them that extension will result in more rent 30 days out...
